How to block specific words in a Telegram group

SpamFixer lets group owners create custom banned words and phrases. Messages are checked automatically, including edited messages.

Set up banned words step by step

1. Add SpamFixer

Add the bot and grant delete-message and restrict-member permissions.

2. Open SpamFixer privately

Open Protection → My Groups.

3. Select the group

Open settings for the group you want to protect.

4. Open Banned words

Enable the filter and choose Add rule.

5. Send a word or phrase

A single token is stored as a word; multiple words are stored as a phrase.

6. Choose the scope

Apply the rule to this group only or to all groups you own.

7. Test it

Send a test message. Edited messages are rechecked too.

Why custom rules matter

Global anti-spam catches common spam; custom rules enforce the vocabulary of your own community.

Words and phrases

Multi-word input is stored as a phrase. Specific phrases usually reduce false positives.

One group or all owner groups

Group scope is local. Owner scope applies the rule to all active groups owned by the same user.

Edited messages are rechecked

Posting clean text and later inserting a banned word by editing does not bypass the filter.

Rule quality

Avoid overly broad short words unless they are truly forbidden.
